Spark Foundation Gifts T$100,000
Christmas has come early for Child Cancer Foundation thanks to a gift of T$100,000 Bartercard Trade Dollars from the Spark Foundation.
“It is the season for generosity and each year the Spark Foundation looks to donate a portion of our Bartercard Trade Dollars to charities that focus on the support and care of children,” said Lynne Le Gros, general manager of the Spark Foundation. “We are pleased to be able to help Child Cancer Foundation provide vital support to children with cancer and their families, and grateful to the Bartercard Foundation for facilitating our donation.”
One Bartercard Trade Dollar is equivalent to one New Zealand dollar and can be used at more than 6,000 businesses across the country.
Child Cancer Foundation Chief Executive Robyn Kiddle said the Gift could not have come at a better time: “Cancer doesn’t stop for Christmas and many families will be facing the reality of Christmas at the hospital and away from home,” said Robyn. “Christmas is a critical time for us to support families and keep them connected. We are grateful to the Spark Foundation for this generous gift.”
Around 20 new child cancer diagnoses will be made this Christmas period. Child Cancer Foundation will help bring relief and comfort to those newly diagnosed children, their siblings, parents and whanau this Christmas, while also continuing to support around 500 families nationwide.
