The darkest nights produce the brightest stars
Last Christmas Isabella, her Mum Cindy and big brother Mannix, were living in a room on the hospital ward.
Isabella was diagnosed with cancer at just two days old. Her first few months were an uphill battle, but Isabella is a wee fighter.
It was during this time that Cindy met Child Cancer Foundation Support Coordinator, Mary - someone who would become Cindy’s lifeline to the outside world and a shoulder to lean on.
Because of the intensity of Isabella’s treatment, she wasn’t able to go home for her first Christmas.
But Mary brought the magic of Christmas to Isabella, Mannix and Cindy on the Hospital ward. Mannix attended a special Child Cancer Foundation Christmas party and Mary made sure there were gifts to open on the big day itself.
Family support coordinators like Mary are at the heart of what we do. Standing beside families when it feels like their world is falling apart.
The doctors took her away for tests, then broke the news that my little girl had cancer. It was earth shattering and it broke me.

Help bring courage and comfort to families fighting child cancer.
Sadly, this Christmas many more families will be told the devastating news their child has cancer. But by making a donation you can help us raise the $128,670 we need to support every Kiwi child who is newly diagnosed and those already fighting.
Your donation will provide families with:
♥ One on One support: from a Family Support Coordinator like Mary.
♥ Financial help: for a family who has lost income as one parent stays with their sick child.
♥ Practical help: like Christmas food hampers, phone top-ups, gifts for siblings.
♥ Travel Assistance: to bring families who may be separated because of treatment needs together at Christmas.
Please make a special gift this Christmas.
Donate to support little stars like Isabella and their families.
