Professionals Real Estate holiday homes in hot demand
More families are making use of the Sunshine Lodge holiday homes
in Taupo and Queenstown and enjoying the respite and relaxation they
afford.
In the past year, the occupancy rate of the Taupo Sunshine Lodge has
swelled to 98 per cent and the Queenstown Sunshine Lodge to 70 per cent.
Kindly donated and maintained by The Professionals Real Estate group,
the holiday homes are free of charge to children and their families
supported by the Child Cancer Foundation. The homes are full-furnished
and equipped, meaning that families going through the rigmarole of
caring for a child with cancer can take some time out to be together and
rejuvenate.
In December 2007, the Professionals Real Estate received a lovely
letter from the Dufty/Porteous family.
“I am writing to express our appreciation of your kind and generous
sponsorship of Sunshine Lodge for which we are extremely grateful.
My daughter was diagnosed in 2000 at the age of three, with such a
rare form of cancer that, to date, the oncologists have still never
found a name for it. Her outlook was very grim but the wonderful staff
of 27B experimented with her medication regime and now she is a healthy,
happy ten year old with no sign of cancer whatsoever.
We have been visiting Sunshine Lodge for the past seven years and we
look forward to it with great anticipation every year. Without your
generosity, this would not be possible. The children love the
playgrounds and we love the peace and relaxation time. We almost always
manage to get to the snow every year too.
Thank you, thank you, thank you from all our family”
More recently, the Child Cancer Foundation received a letter from the
Pirie family, expressing their sincere appreciation for the use of the
holiday home.
“We just had our week’s holiday at Taupo Sunshine Lodge. We had an
absolutely fantastic time. We feel very fortunate to have stayed there.
Thank you very much.”
The Professionals have been key sponsors of the Child Cancer
Foundation for more than 12 years and during this time have made a
significant difference to the lives of many children with cancer.
