Lorraine's big win for the Child Cancer Foundation

Downes and dance partner Aaron Gilmore danced their way to a huge total score of 115 points out of a possible 120 in the final with Dancing with the Stars. Performing three dances, their last number was a free-style dance that saw them achieve a perfect score from all four judges.

The Foundation is thrilled with Lorraine’s win, “Lorraine absolutely shone and her dedication and hard work through out the show mean that children all over New Zealand will benefit from her win. The money she has raised will make a difference to those children and families affected by cancer in New Zealand, Lorraine should be incredibly proud of her achievement, we certainly are.”

The Foundation acknowledges the level of commitment made by Lorraine and Aaron over the last couple of months throughout the shows duration, as well as that made by their families and supporters.

“Hours of practice and dedication have been gifted by both Lorraine and Aaron and their families to the Foundation and we want to thank them for that. It has been a huge part of their lives – not just the training and practice, but the time spent away from their families. The Child Cancer Foundation greatly appreciates all that they have given”.
