David's dance for Dunedin
Retired Paediatrician Professor David Holdaway worked for many years at Dunedin Hospital delivering oncology treatment throughout Otago/Southland. Held in great esteem by many, including the local division of the Child Cancer Foundation who named their family drop-in centre in his honour (Holdaway House), Prof took station at his usual spot at Dunedin Hospital for this year’s collection.
A little reluctant to wear a tutu at first, he changed his mind and put one on for fun. Shortly afterwards a former colleague walked by and challenged him to do a little dance for a donation. Prof happily obliged and the money was cheerfully handed over. As a life member of the Child Cancer Foundation, Prof had an example to set, after all! The Otago/Southland Division manager reported that Prof Holdaway was one of the highest collectors in Dunedin that day!
