A Close Shave sets a world record in Christchurch
A
new world record was set for head shaves in Christchurch on 2nd December. 116
heads were shaved, including nine Westpac Branch managers, Frank Endicott and
Gary Endicott, and several policemen. Several women, including a Westpac
manager braved the clippers of the hairdressers, assisted by Andrew Mehrtens
and Sam Broomhall.
A Close Shave was held in The Square in Christchurch on 2nd December to raise
funds for the Child Cancer Foundation and especially to bring some Christmas
cheer to children getting treatment for cancer at Christchurch Hospital over
the holiday period. More than $60,000 was raised. Special thanks to Dean
Harrison and the team at The Radio Network for organizing the event, and
support by Westpac and Canterbury Rugby.
