The invaluable work of the Child Cancer Foundation is being assisted by Hyundai, under an important new sponsorship.

The fast-growing vehicle brand is supplying a range of vehicles to the Foundation, which has 22 branches nationwide supporting children with cancer and their families.

Five Hyundai Tucson SUVs and three Hyundai Getz minis will help this invaluable work. Additionally the head of the Foundation will drive a Hyundai Sonata V6 saloon, donated by the Giltrap family.

“The Child Cancer Foundation is delighted to have the support of the Giltrap Group and the Hyundai New Zealand team,” says Jim Barclay, Child Cancer Foundation Chief Executive.

“The Foundation receives no government funding so this type of support is invaluable in helping us support children with cancer and their families.”

The sponsorship is a further extension of Hyundai’s widespread support for the community and sport in New Zealand.

“On average 150 children and young people are diagnosed with cancer every year in this country,” comments the Managing Director of Hyundai Automotive NZ, Philip Eustace.

“It’s a cause close to the heart of our nation and we at Hyundai are delighted we have been able to assist the great work the Foundation does in our community.”

The Child Cancer Foundation is a not-for profit charity that provides practical and emotional support to children with cancer, their families, and the health professionals who care for them.

With four divisions supporting 22 branches throughout the country, the Foundation receives no government funding, or funding from other cancer support agencies.

The Child Cancer Foundation is instrumental in providing support and information to families upon diagnosis. This support includes financial assistance in the form of meals, transportation, accommodation, support groups, education scholarships or access to holiday homes.

The Foundation also focuses on providing support for health professionals and contributing financially to research initiatives.
