Lorraine Downes

Lorraine Downes has been a passionate and much appreciated supporter of the Child Cancer Foundation over the past five years.

Her association with the Foundation began in spectacular fashion in 2006 when she selected the Child Cancer Foundation as her chosen charity while competing on TVNZ’s Dancing with the Stars. Lorraine won the competition with partner Aaron Gilmore, and raised an amazing nearly $112,000.

Lorraine has gone on to help promote the Child Cancer Foundation on radio, television and magazines and has been instrumental in gaining considerable media profile for our cause.  Lorraine champions the Foundation’s “Stars of Courage” programme. “I love the fact that the children are dedicted their very own star which shines over them,” she says.

Throughout her association with Child Cancer, Lorraine has acted professionally and compassionately. The Child Cancer Foundation has been enormously grateful for her support.
