The first big busk!

31 May 2011 Luga Boa performing at Vulcan Lane, Auckland

We took it to the streets for Child Cancer with the support of some very famous musicians!

We took in to the Streets.

The first Child Cancer Foundation Big Busk National Day was a great success in May, with artists ranging from 10-year-old Brooke Upjohn in Christchurch, to big names including Jason Kerrison and Greg Johnson and Avalanche City taking it to the streets to support children with cancer.

Young Brooke was not to be outdone by the big names and was the only busker in Christchurch. She has already exceeded her $500 Bucket challenge by raising over $1,600.

The Big Busk ran as part of New Zealand Music month and we are now encouraging schools, and musicians of all abilities to choose busking as a new fundraising method for children with cancer, any time.
