An update on Appeal Week 2010
14 Apr 2010
The Child Cancer Foundation Appeal Week took place on 8th-14th March and we are pleased to say it was a success.
The Child Cancer Foundation blue bucket brigade was out in full force around the country, raising awareness and collecting donations from the public. We are grateful for the number of companies that showed their support by collecting for us throughout the week in their workplace.
CCF also received fantastic support from numerous schools around the country, who took up the challenge of creating their own fundraising initiatives.
We are delighted to have Lion Rock Ventures, who look after iconic New Zealand brand Buzzy Bee, supporting the Foundation. During appeal week Buzzy Bee and friends visited primary schools around Auckland educating the students about the Foundation’s work in the community and handed out soccer balls.
The poster kids for this year’s appeal - Kavahn Taumatauka, Claudia Little, and Hana Ellis-Kaa were great in helping to increase awareness by appearing in various media coverage in the weeks leading up to appeal week and during the week.
CCF could not have been able to carry out our national fundraising week without the help of all our wonderful volunteers. We appreciate all the time and effort our volunteers dedicated to ensuring Appeal Week was a success.
